Case Study
Santa Sleigh Steel Frame – Community Charity Project
- Client: Doncaster Lions Club
- Location: Doncaster
Thorndell Engineering was proud to support a local charity initiative by manufacturing the steel frame for a new Santa Sleigh, helping to create memorable festive experiences for children and families across Doncaster.
When approached by the Doncaster Lions Club, we were delighted to contribute our engineering expertise to a project that plays such an important role in bringing the community together during the Christmas season.
Our Role
Our team designed and fabricated a robust steel frame structure for the new sleigh within our fabrication workshop.
The frame was carefully engineered to provide the strength and durability required for the sleigh, ensuring it could safely support the decorative elements, lighting, and equipment needed for its festive outings around the local area.
Collaboration
Following fabrication, the sleigh frame was handed over to the Doncaster Lions Club, who will complete the next stages of the project, including:
- Painting and decorative finishing
- Installation of a new sound system
- Fitting festive lighting in preparation for the Christmas season
Together, these additions will transform the frame into a fully finished sleigh ready to spread festive cheer across the community.
Outcome
This project highlights Thorndell Engineering's commitment to supporting local charities and community initiatives, using our engineering skills to contribute to something that will bring joy to families throughout Doncaster.
