Thorndell Engineering provide a wide range of Structural Engineering services for clients throughout the UK. We design, manufacture and install everything from Handrails and Fencing, to Balconies and Portal Frame Buildings, providing complete Structural Engineering Services to companies throughout the UK. We were proud to work with main contractor Keepmoat Regeneration as part of one of the largest housing regeneration projects, on the new development at Carlton Gate, Leeds.
We were appointed by Keepmoat Regeneration to design, manufacture and install a wide range of steel services for the construction project, as part of their flagship housing project. The new development was to create 68 flats and 45 houses, for a total of 113 new build homes in a prime location in Leeds.
Our team completed the design and manufacturing of Structural Portal Frames, Balustrading, Balconies, Juliet Balconies, Fencing, Gates and Benches in house before installing each on site. We began by installing the Structural Portal Frames for the apartment blocks, before installing Balustrading to the concrete staircases inside. Following this, we installed the Balconies and Juliet Balconies to the apartments, and installed the Fencing and Gates around the entire housing estate.
In total, we installed over 100 Balconies throughout the new build project, and designed, manufactured and installed over 1,500m of fencing surrounding the six apartment blocks and four housing blocks. The project was part of a wider regeneration programme to improve the quality of available housing in the area.
With other trades behind schedule with some works, we had to work to extremely tight deadlines to keep the project on track. Our team worked incredibly hard to keep to these deadlines, and provided fast, efficient installations to the highest quality to finish the project on time, with a high-quality end product.
