The Project

Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust is creating an Extra Care Development in York. Upon completion, the new development will consist of 151 units of one-bed and two-bed apartments, and dedicated care suites.

Thorndell Engineering were appointed to undertake Structural Engineering services. The Structural Steelwork supplied and installed will be fully CE Marked to execution class 2 on the £24m extra care development. We also supplied Balconies and Supporting Angles to the project in New Lodge.

The Challenge

Some last-minute design changes added to the challenge of the project. But using our CE Marking Factory Production Control, we were able to stop the manufacturing process and reissue new design changes, ensuring the works were carried out and completed to the client’s exact specifications.
