Over 40 years ago, Thorndell Engineering began life, established as a Sole Trader by Graham Atha.
Paul Thompson and Penny Barker, future Directors of Thorndell Engineering, began work at the company.
Expanding over the years, Thorndell Engineering became a Limited company at the start of the new millennium.
After a management buyout in June 2003, Penny Barker and Paul Thompson became new Directors of the company.
New Industrial Units 7 & 8 were built to provide better, cleaner and safer facilities for employees.
Our powder coating plant opened, and was put in operation in order to powder coat our own products achieving quicker lead times.
In July 2013 we opened brand new offices and a structural steel workshop, built with overhead crane facilities, and opened by Mayor Ros Jones.
In September 2014, we were awarded CE Marking accreditation execution class 2.
We were proud to design and manufacture the new permanent market stalls for Doncaster Market, which has hundreds of years of history, and is known nationwide.
Working alongside national construction company Pacy & Wheatley, we completed structural steelwork for the Steam & Moorlands Garden Centre in Pickering, North Yorkshire.
We were pleased to leave another client satisfied after completing work at Wickersley School & Sports College.
We completed a huge project in Carlton Gate, Leeds, installing over 100 balconies, 1500m fencing, structural portal frames, and more.
We designed, manufactured and installed structural steelwork to the new Amazon distribution centre in Doncaster.
We are currently in the process of installing a wide range of secondary steelwork to the York Community Stadium, due to be completed in 2019.
